A PHENOMENAL game needs PHENOMENAL players. We've teamed up with Sky Sports Commentator Jon Wells, to pick a worthy try every month.
IRN-BRU, the official soft drink of the Super League and Sky Sports are today celebrating the second winner of the prestigious IRN-BRU Try of the Month awards.
Selected by Jon Wells of Sky Sports Boots 'n All from a selection of top three tries from the previous four weeks of action, Jamie Foster was awarded the trophy for his try against Leeds on 19th March.
"Although the other tries were top class and possibly involved more exciting build-up play, our feeling is that Foster has produced something here that will stand out as one of Superleague's Tries of the Season, never mind Try Of The Month. To execute that skill at that speed and in that little space shows a confidence that belies Foster's youth and relative inexperience. A deserving winner for March that was a bumper month for top tries"
Jamie's trophy was presented to him by Super League legend Paul Sculthorpe. He also was given £200 to donate to his nominated charity of choice and plenty of IRN-BRU to toast his success.
"I didn't realise how good the try was until people started congratulating me and chatting about it in the changing room and then I watched it back. I feel fantastic to have won the IRN-BRU Try of the Month Award for it. It is not something you expect when you start at the beginning of the year, to win an award like this - it is pretty special. It is also great to be able to donate the money to the children's ward at Whiston Hospital. The team visit there regularly and the work that staff do there is fantastic. I hope the donation can help towards the good work they do"
